Standing up for the people of Ottawa-Vanier
Dear Friend, August 4, 2009
We want to thank you for your support, your encouragement, and your generous volunteerism and hard work during the 2008 federal NDP election campaign in Ottawa-Vanier. Without your help, we could not have done nearly as well as we did.
On October 14th, Canadians elected 37 NDP Members of Parliament to the House of Commons. It was the second most successful election campaign in the history of our political movement. And even though we didn’t win in Ottawa-Vanier, there is still much we can be proud of. We waged a highly visible campaign, one that advanced a message of social justice and environmental stewardship. This was a message that resonated with 8,845 Ottawa-Vanier voters (17.1% of the popular vote). We had a great team of volunteers who worked tirelessly to spread the NDP’s message of positive change throughout the community, so much so that the mainstream media took notice with a columnist from The Ottawa Sun newspaper endorsing me as the best candidate in our riding.

We’ve built a great foundation, but there is still a lot of work to do. That being said we would like to thank you for your support and volunteerism during the campaign by hosting a barbecue for all our volunteers.
The volunteer appreciation bbq will take place on Sunday, September 20 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the home of our federal president Larry Rousseau and membership secretary Terry Stavnyck. They live on the corner of Mann Ave. and Range Rd. in Sandy Hill (the Peace House), at 250 Range Rd.
Please RSVP by Wednesday, Sept. 16 so we know how much food to have on hand. RSVP to myself by e-mailing trevhache [@] gmail.com or phone 613-789-0604 to leave a message.
Thank you once again for all your support and encouragement. It really meant the world to me and all the wonderful people who helped out on the campaign. We really could not have done it without you.
I hope to see you at the barbecue.
In solidarity,
Trevor Haché
2008 Federal NDP Candidate in Ottawa-Vanier
